I do not think any party in Iraq has an answer to the upsurge in violence and the shedding of blood in the country.
At the same time, I do not think any of them would deny the fact that conditions are destined to aggravate in the coming months.
No single party in Iraq has the ability on its own to stop the country from descending into chaos and there is no party which has an alternative to deliver it from its current predicament.
Iraq is probably the only country in the world in which the need for a coalition government or national consensus is not necessary.
We have become a country in which logic has no place. Logic and reason have played no role in solving any of the hard files the country has been grabbling with since the 2003-U.S. invasion.
In the absence of reason, no sane party in the world is willing to pay attention to the conditions in Iraq.
Otherwise, how come a horrific crime like the one in the northern city of Tel Afar in which a suicide bomber barges into a primary school blowing up the whole building on the heads of its children.
In a sign of the government’s impotence has been its call on the international community to help it fight terror.
The call illustrates the government’s total failure in putting an end to the bloodshed and death that is staring Iraqis in the eye.
The government and before the U.S. occupation forces used everything at their disposal to preserve security and failed.
According to the government, reinstating security requires excessive military force. But force and intelligence and the oppression they cause are not at the solutions Iraqis need.
